Thanks again. I have acquired a dedicated buffer and have placed it in multiple places in my chain. I have also confirmed that the version of my ElectroHarmonix Deluxe Memory Man is indeed true bypass. The "tone sucking" with all pedals bypassed is not horrendous, but I notice it and the buffer does...
