Re: Issue when using an analog delay
Hi John, Nice to see you here again, you have always been most helpful with past issues! :-) I have tried a variety of methods: Batteries Wallwart (for the memory man) Voodoo lab power pedal It made no difference. Once again, what is really odd is that the G-Major delays do not have this issue at all.

Issue when using an analog delay
Hi, I am having an issue when analog delays are inserted post preamp in one of the loops of my GCX. I have a G-major as the last element before the power amp and the delays work fine but I also wanted the warmth of an analog delay. I have the following issue with the three units I have tried (memory...

Re: Loss of volume with a Barber Tone Press
Well... When the signal goes from the output of the loop straight into the amp, no issue anymore. So the issue is what is happening. No idea what is going on but rather than spending hours testing, I will accept not to know and just use the maxon compressor instead since it is immune to the issue at ...

Re: Loss of volume with a Barber Tone Press
I will try this tomorrow. Too late in Europe for such tests!
However I forgot to say that between the GCX and the first loop, the signal goes int and out of an ISP decimator. However, I will try a straight test tomorrow.

Re: Loss of volume with a Barber Tone Press
Well I have just tried going with the feed thru and no difference. Something interesting though... The first 3 loops of the GCX are dedicated to pre-gain pedals When I hit the compressor, I have the volume drop. But.... if I switch on a pedal that is in a loop AFTER the compressor, the issue goes aw...

Loss of volume with a Barber Tone Press
Hi, I am using this pedal inserted in one of the loops. I have three other pedals that work just fine. But the tone press has an issue. When I engage the loop and the effect is off, things are fine. But as soon as the effect if switched on, there is a sudden loss of volume. I have tried inserting th...

Re: Ground loop with a amp and a preamp in a GCX
Hi John, I hope you are well today. I did some more tests and couldn't come up with a solution. Here is what I have tried. - Swapping the preamp with a POD that is two meters away from the rack, plugged in a different wall wart. No difference - Swap the marshall head for another one. Same symptoms -...

Re: Ground loop with a amp and a preamp in a GCX
I did try just now and it doesn't change. Still have the hum coming when the input jack is connected.
I also unscrewed the gcx from the rack. So the amp head, the gcx and the preamp's chassis are not connected together in any way.

Re: Ground loop with a amp and a preamp in a GCX
Hi John, Many more attemps, and still no luck. I have tried blaming either the amp or the preamp with a simple test: swapping either of them with another preamp, powered by the furman but sitting on top of the rack without any contact with the rails. In any configuration, the result is the same: as ...
