Would you not best be served using a VL Control Switcher?

Solderless will work yes, but in my experience in both the music industry as well as electrical engineering/design you can't beat a soldered connection. IMHO (but shared by many)

Ultimately that depends on your selector, but there should be no danger to equipment in trying it out.
