yep, that works...hahah i guess i just didnt understand it in the manual. i was under the impression that if you enabled the GCX as an expander, the IA buttons were directly mapped to the loops.
Thanks for your help!

Re: I did it. (got around the 8 IA button limitation)
so if i enable the GCX as an expander, i can send loop on offs with patch changes, without assigning them to IA...and i can mix and match? so have some of the loops enabled as IAs and some of them sent with the patches?

Re: I did it. (got around the 8 IA button limitation)
yea, but then i cant use the IA's for my TC G-force fx bypasses if i do that so basically, i have my loops like this. 1-6 pedals, 7 is recto recording preamp 8 triaxis. then on the gcp button 1 is loop 6 button 2 is delay on the gforce button 3 is verb on the gforce button 4 is chorus on the gforce ...

Re: Ground Control/Triaxis/GMajor
im running a GCP/GCX/G-force/Triaxis/tc nova drive. all i can say, is that make sure your midi chain makes sense. mine is as follows. midi out from the gcp --> gcx -->g-force -->triaxis -->nova make sure you are using the proper midi in/outs...and only use a through if your device doesnt have one. s...

I did it. (got around the 8 IA button limitation)
So after finding out that the GCX didnt respond to program changes, i was a bit bummed, because i had wasted 5 of my IA buttons for FX bypass on my TC G-force, and to switch 2 pre-amps. only leaving me with 3 buttons left for GCX loops. after doing some research i found a product called Midi Event P...

Re: GCP+GCX 8 loops using only 6 IA buttons?
i was also thinking of building something that sits between the GCP and GCX and intercepts and re-writes midi messages to make it do what i want. i guess ultimately i just need a more fully featured controller. unfortunatly its hard to plan these things when you sort of have to buy these products bl...

Re: GCP+GCX 8 loops using only 6 IA buttons?
that was basically the conclusion i had come to myself, i was hoping i was missng somthing.
thanks for confirming.
i'll probbaly try the 2 preamp, 1 loop option.
Feature requests...arbitray midi messages being sent with patch changes.
OR a smaller GCP pedal expander. or a larger one, GCP-P.

Re: GCP+GCX 8 loops using only 6 IA buttons?
its not so much a problem with the GCX, but the GCP, can the GCP send arbitrary midi commands on preset changes? like midi #16, controller #86, Value 127?
