Current Touring Rig

Post by Mr. T »

Hey guys - here's my current touring rig snapped at a radio session yesterday. I'm waiting on a combined head / rack case. cab is a bogner 412 w/ v30's. GCX was modified with hardwired loops, a custom front-panel interface and blue LED's. It's a versatile and great sounding set-up with a relatively small foot print.
cheers

Well spotted, man! Yeah Jason did some mods to my GCX. All the outboard connections are bought out-front turning the front panel into an interface. There's a locking input for the guitar, XLR connection for the GC Pro and sends/returns to the amp FX loop and to the tuner, which i have in loop one on a send only for silent tuning and so i don't have to have the tuner in-line when it's not being used. Loops 1-3 and 4-8 are hard wired together so i can still run some fx (OD's etc) in front of the amp and everything else in the loop. Oh, and there are blue LED's!

What type of locking plug was put in that GCX for the guitar cable?

do you have any close up pics of the front panel of the modded GCX. I am really curious about this. Thanks a lot.

here's a shot of the modded GCX before the outputs were labeled. The far right ones go to the send and return of the amps fx loop and the other two nearest the camera are a tuner send and the main send to the amp input. Loops 1-3 are hardwired for pedals that sit in front of the amp and loops 4-8 are hardwired for stuff that sits in the amps loop. Oh, and the LED's are blue!

Hey thanks for the pic. It looks great! I have modded all the LED's on my GCX's too.
So the two Thru jacks are sends to your tuner's input, and to the input on your amp?
and then the two jacks at the opposite end are your send and return for your effects loop? Just wanted to make sure I understood... Thanks again for sharing.

you got it man. thru 1 goes to the amp input, thru 2 to the tuner on my pedalboard and the other two ins/outs go to the amps fx loop send and returns. It saves having a separate interface unit or to have to go into the back of the rack to hook everything up every time.
Here's a few more recent pics of things wired up a little tidier.
