Hi mibu, you do very nice work, thanks for sharing it with us.

Looks like there are some really serious gear and tone addicts in Romania.

I'd love to see the back of your racks, and it would be awesome to see a wiring diagram/schematic too.

Rig diagrams can be very helpful to those with less rack building experience.

I hereby pronounce you supreme leader of Romanian rackmeisters.

Scary Terry

here are some pics of slightly older wirings, I happened to find. I used klotz and mogami cables then, but now I exclusively use Evidence Audio cables on everything (and then I wasn't using the power sources from VL to replace the * trannies...).

Very nice, and very colorful too!

Love that red and blue cable, especially in the top photo. Is that Klotz?
Love to know the part numbers on that stuff. (Got to make it look like they're getting their money's worth. :D )

Your harnesses look great too. Can you share some harness-making tips?
What's the trick to getting all of the cable lengths exactly right?

Thanks,
Scary Terry

man, those klotz cables I got from a friend in france, out of a studio. but as soon as I got the Evidence Audio cables I realized what a BIG difference they make! as I said, I use now only EA cables for my racks (Monorail for the inner parts and pedalboards, and Lyric HG for the outer).

as for harnessing tips, I don't know what to say... just look at the work of the pros and try to copy that. to get the correct cable lenght, I first solder the connector at one end (I use only switchcraft and neutrik), get the cable correctly along the inner side of the rack and then cut the other end, followed by soldering the other connector.
rule: try always to get the power cables on one side and the audio cables on the other. never mix them!
if you use cables with two inner wires plus shield, connect the shield at only the receiving end, together with one of the wires (the one that is connected at the ground lug of the connector at the other end) - this, of course, for connections that are not fully balanced.

can you tell me where did you get your sliding rack shelves from. also , are you using a "pedalsnake" in the picture of the recent rack you did?

the rack shelves I always buy from adam hall, in germany.

I do custom snakes for every client. it's not the original pedal snake. mainly because in the pedal snakes the cables are crap! I use nowadays exclusively evidence audio cables.
