Vertex Effects Systems - Eclectic Pedalboard w/Flight Case

Post by Desperado »

Here's a pedalboard that I did for a local producer/studio owner in the South Bay Area who wanted some stomp-boxes to use along with his rack when he tracks guitar parts for recording bands and artists.

The client also requested a custom flight-case to go along with the board that would allow him to play the pedalboard inside the case in the studio or outdoors if he decides to take the board on a gig. The bottom section of the flight-case only stand 1 3/8" inches off the ground when in the flight case. Both the board and flight-case are made out of a light-weight composite material that keeps the weight of the board and case just under 40lbs. total.

The client had some requirements for the board set-up that were a bit out of the norm. Firstly, he wanted a to use an Analogman Bypass Box as a Master Bypass for all the effects so that he can set loops and samples on the bypassed section of the board while still playing dry. Additionally, the client requested that I use a Vertex Dual Buffer with a splitter so that (if desired) he could split out to a dry amp from the buffer.

Overall the board had some unique effects, many of which I hadn't had experience with before, but nevertheless some nice tones.

The order of the effects are:

INTERFACE IN (from guitar)--> Master Bypass Looper--> Boss TU-2 Tuner--> Vertex Buffer--> Fulltone Clyde Deluxe Wah--> DOD Envelope Filter--> Boss Super-Shifter--> Keeley Compressor--> Tone Candy Sweet Drive--> Fulltone Fat-Boost 2--> Frantone Vibratone Tremolo--> Digitech Time Bender Delay--> Boss DM-2 Clone (w/Analog/Digital switch)--> Boss RC-2 Loop Station--> INTERFACE OUT(to amp)

*Notes: Client determined placement and order of all pedals.

*Stand Outs: I always have liked the versatility of the Clyde Deluxe Wah, and the nice Ross tones from the Keeley Compressor. However, what stood out to me most was the Tone Candy Sweet Drive. It had a bit of a darker tone to it, but had a really nice smoothness to it and sounded really fat and beefy with a Strat through a clean amp.

Enjoy!
