VERTEX - Small/Compact Travel Pedalbaord

Post by Desperado »

Here's a pedalboard that I finished this weekend for a local client in a popular San Francisco based band called Guella.

The pedalboard features a custom interface with a passive pass-through when first entering the pedalboard for the Envelope Filter and Wah to run through before inserting into the Vertex Dual Buffer and the remaining pedals. The client didn't want any buffering with the filter pedals. The client also required A/B switching built into the interface to change between his rhythm and lead sounds. One output is transformer isolated for the best performance with two amps.

The order of the pedals are:

INTERFACE (passive)--> BBE Ben Wah--> Hartman Envelope Filter--> INTERFACE (buffer)--> Barber Tone Press Compressor--> Keeley Ibanez TS-9DX Mod Plus--> Keeley Ibanez TS-9 Baked Mod--> Hartman Flanger--> Xotic RC Booster--> Boss TU-2 (mute)--> Line 6 DL-4 Delay--> INTERFACE (buffer + A/B switcher)

The set up sound great and all of the pedals really work well together. The two Tube Screamers are great when stacked and have a lot more gain on tap compared to most TS-9's. The Hartman Flanger is always a favorite and the new Envelope Filter sounds great - very close to the original Mutron. I also like the BBE Ben Wah, it's very well built and has a great sound, however I'm not a fan of the aesthetics.

Note that the client uses the RC Booster as more of an EQ than a boost, and uses it to help balance things out or attenuate certain frequencies and the overall volume before hitting the delay and amps.

Enjoy!
