New Pedalboard Build

Post by stilwel »

I'm finally putting a big pedalboard together to hold all (most?) of my pedals so they are always hooked up and ready to play.
I've got 3 Voodoo Lab Pedal Power Supplies mounted underneath (PP2+, PPAC and PP-Digital).

The grey pedal is an OLC Chunky Cheese Fuzz (Lovetone Big Cheese clone).

I'm going to have some tough choices to make here shortly as I have 3 new fuzz pedals on the way.
MXR Classic 108 Fuzz
OLC Whisker Biscuit Fuzz (DIY kit)
EHX Little Big Muff

I have the feeling the ZVex pedals and the Tweakfuzz might have to sit on the sidelines until I figure out what I want.

Once I actually get settled on the pedals I'll wire it up properly instead of using the cheap multi-color radio shack patch cables.

Now...if only I had a PX8 to have true-bypass (and MIDI preset control) over all of these. :|

I am literally making massive changes to this board just about every day. I have no hope of wiring this thing up properly.

Here's the latest additions:
RJM Mastermind
Axess GRX4
EHX Little Big Muff
Korg Pitch Black

Removed (if only for a moment):
Digitech Whammy (M9 can do this)
Vox Valvetone (M9 Screamer sounds 99% the same)

GRX4 Loops:
1. Zvex pedals
2. OLC Chunky Cheese
3. Tweakfuzz (need to make 2 patch cables)
4. Big Muff

So the Mastermind is doing 2 things.
1. Calling up presets on the Timeline & M9
2. Sending CC's to GRX4 for Fuzz box selection. The Mastermind is pretty cool in that you can go into Instant Access mode by hitting the FUNCTION switch. The IA buttons can be set to be mutually exclusive. If you turn one pedal on, it turns off the currently active pedal in the group. Pretty cool.

Sweet board! How do you like the Strymon Timeline? I'm collecting cans and donating plasma to get mine...haha. It looks like its a delay whores dream.

The Timeline is very cool. I'm mainly using the dBucket and Dual delay engines.
The recent firmware update added some really great features.
