I've been touring with Lee Ranaldo (The Dust, Sonic Youth) since 2012 has his guitar tech and, recently, we've embarked on a solo acoustic songs tour, which is a bit different from your typical acoustic show.
Once I saw the pedalboard Lee put together once I met him shortly before the first show on the latest tour (he lives in Manhattan, I live and work in Porto - Portugal), I knew I had to change a few things. So, here it is:
So, the setup is actually quite simple. The signal is feed into the tuner, then to a Radial J48 DI, where it's fed to the console and also to the effects pedals chain, compromised of: Jam Pedals Boomster, Voodoo Lab Sparkle Drive, TC Electronic Flashback Mini, Digitech Two Second Delay and then straight to the amp. The acoustic guitars do have a pickup but we're also using a microphone condenser (either a Beyer Dynamic M201, a DPA 4099 or even both, depending on the venue. All the pedals are powered by the Voodoo Lab ISO-5.
