We recently built the 'main' pedalboard for John Bobo in the rock band The Slang.
John wanted a versatile board that allowed for ease of programming for live shows. In addition, he wanted to have room for expansion when he was in the studio. The TheGigRig G2 allows for ease of programming with added MIDI functionality for his Strymonn and Eventide pedals.
A key feature of this board is that it features a Remote Loopy 2 underneath the board. This allows for trying different pedals in the board when John is in the studio. Simply plug in to the send/return of loops 1 & 2 on the remote loopy and play away. The Remote Loopy 2's location is in such that the jacks are placed directly underneath the side of the board for easy access.
Another key feature of this board is lies within the 'Guitar In' jack on the rear interface of the panel. The jack is such that the signal bypasses the wireless unit completely when a cable is plugged into the panel. This comes in handy if the wireless unit ever acts up during a live event.
Lastly, for live and studio use, John wanted to have an easy way to bank the scenes of his G2 up. This was a simple addition of the GigRig Bank Up switch.
Everything was powered by the Voodoo Lab PP2+ and Digital units, which are ultra quiet. As all of our custom builds go, a custom loom was included for easy setup and taredown. In addition, a custom case from Mental Case (not pictured) was provided for better protection on the road. All of the units for the board were sourced and provided by Best-Tronics Pro Audio through our dealer relationships.
