PP2+ to power Strymon timeline & Dunlop Univibe UV-1 ??

Post by gravity_81 »

Hi,

Does anyone know if the PP2+ can power both a Strymon Timeline as well as a Dunlop UV-1 (univibe reissue)?

Or even just to power the timeline? The Timeline requires 9V DC negative tip, 300 ma current. I read the manual and it said the max current from any of the outputs is 250 ma??

Whereas the univibe only requires 150ma at 9V DC negative tip also.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks

EDIT: I just got done measuring the actual current draw of a Timeline and it actually draws less than 250mA in any mode... this means that the Strymon Timeline can be powered directly from output 5 or 6 on a Pedal Power 2+ with the corresponding DIP switch set to Normal using one of the supplied standard barrel cables.

Unless yours is different for some reason, the Dunlop Univibe actually requires 18V and can be powered from any two outputs on the Pedal Power 2+ with the DIP switches set to Normal using a Voltage Doubler cable.

I hope that helps!

Anyone running the Timeline from output 5 or 6 as per John's suggestions? I'm new to the Timeline and want to make sure that it's safe to run it like this! It would be great not having to lose a power output.
Thanks!

I recommend to try powering it as John describes (can't damage anything). If it runs consistently and well then you are good to go. But, if you encounter any problems this way will work for sure:

To power your Timeline use a Current Doubler Adapter (part# PPAP, $6.00ea.) in Pedal Power 2 Plus outputs 4 and 5 (or 6 and 7), DIP switches set NORMAL and one of the all black (standard polarity) cables supplied.

;)
