PP AC - M9 + Boomerang III + Whammy?
PP AC - M9 + Boomerang III + Whammy?
Will a Pedal Power AC be able to power a Boomerang III, Line 6 M9, and Digitech Whammy at the same time?

Sorry, has the forum been deactivated?
Re: PP AC - M9 + Boomerang III + Whammy?
Hey, I too have questions about powering Boomerang III with AC.
Is it better to power it with AC then PP2+ (doubling the current 5+6)?
They say 500mA with PP2+ is enough.
If the AC, should I use 600mA or 1200mA?

6stings - since I am also awaiting a reply to another question, I'll take stab at answering yours.
I have powered the Boomerang III with either the 600mA or the 1200mA output. The 600mA works fine, the 1200mA is most probably more than you need for the 'rang; save it for something else.
I am currently (heh) powering my 'rang III with a PP2+ using current doubler cable (PPAP) combined with a PPL6 coming out of the 'rang into outputs 5 and 6 set on normal. Works fine. Personally I use the right angle PPL6-R, saves a little space on the pedalboard. The orange end goes into the 'rang.
But don't just take my word for it. Below are pasted the results of a search I did on the 'rang, straight from JC's replies:
"The Boomerang III can be powered from any 9V output on a Pedal Power AC using one of the included PABAR cables.
We have actually had the Boomerang III here for testing and have confirmed that it in fact does work with the Pedal Power 2+ when using the Current Doubler cable on outputs 5 and 6 switched to the Normal position."
Be sure to use the search function here, it works well.

Hey Skipper, while I was waiting here, I sent an email to Mike Nelson at Boomerang! THose guys are exeptionaly service minded, the replay came the same day!
Here's what Mike said:
'The PP2+ will work fine with the current doubling cable, but the VL AC would be perfect.
Either the 600 or 1200mA ports should work great.'
Since the little label on the back of the 'Rang III says '700mA' and the original Boomerang power suply has 700mA current, I used 1200mA.
Works like a clockwork!
The only other box I run with the AC is 12V Mesa V-Twin...
Cheers!

The 'rang works best into the 1200mA output. The LEDs seem to light up a little brighter there than into the 600mA or PP2+, so if using that output you might need to lower the volume out level somewhat, but there is still no loss of functionality when using the alternatives. Be sure to set your input levels so the 'rang doesn't clip.
Mike at Boomerang is a class act, always attentive and helpful no matter how basic the question.
Get into the 'rang deeply, there is a lot packed into this magic box (I love the fade and reverse functions), plus with the new MIDI capabilities on the horizon one could potentially stick the box on a rack shelf and control every function from a MIDI foot controller like a Behringer or even an old ART X-12 or X-15. It will continue to be one mad looper! Good luck!
