PP2+ and 9-18v pedal

I have a Analogman Mini Chorus Pedal. It can take 9v-18v. What is the best outlet to use on the PP2+ to run this?

Here is what they say on their website (but I'm not entirely sure what it means):
"You can use the ACA (12V) output on PedalPower2 for any of our chorus pedals. Use the normal PP2 boss style connector cables when using our pedals at higher voltage. The Mono chorus pedals can handle up to 18V max. 15-16 volts is the optimal voltage. The pedalpower LINE6 output is about 16 volts, perfect for our mono chorus. But the LINE6 output is unregulated so it may cause some hum depending on your gain and other equipment"

So...do I flip the switch on outlet #5 to use it at 14.5v? Or, should I combine a couple of the 9v outlets and run it at 18v (I have two outlets available). Is either option acceptable and safe for my pedal?

From their description, I would say that any option is safe for that pedal.

Here are your choices:

1. Any output switched to Normal. (9V)
2. Any one of outputs 1-4 switched away from Normal. (12V)
3. Either output 5 or 6 switched away from Normal. (14-16V)
4. Any two outputs switched to Normal using a Voltage Doubler cable. (18V)

So, switching outlet #5 away will produce 50ma of regulated power at 14.5 volts, correct?

I've read the manual and website specs and this is what I understand from reading them, but I want to make sure.

Additionally, if I switch switch #6 away, it will produce 12v at 200ma but it will be unregulated power. Right?

Outputs 5 and 6, when switched away from Normal, are unregulated. the load put on these outputs will dictate the voltage. With a 50mA load, you will see about 14V. With a 200mA load you will see about 12V.

Thanks, John. I decided to feed it a regulated 12v using the first output set to away. I don't want any chance of hum.

Hi John,

I'm trying to get clarity on this as well. I have an old 3 knob Tubeworks Tube Driver that takes 9VDC, 200mA. Butler Audio has said 12VDC is better for getting more volume (and I assume anything more than 12V is no good).

If I use a current doubler cable for outputs 5 & 6, would that provide 12V, +200mA OR 14V, 100mA? I'm not so sure what regulated vs. unregulated means. It looks like regulated is the preferred type.

Any help on this?
