Question of the Voodoo Lab PP2 Plus

Post by Scumby »

Hello,I just purchased the Voodoo lab PP2 plus & I have a question. When running all my Pedals (MXR Analog Delay,Boss Stereo Chorus,Boss NS,Boss GE-7 EQ,Boss MT‑2 Metal Zone & Boss TU-3) I run all the dip switches on normal, but my Boss GE-7 EQ's LED light is practically off with dip switch on normal, so when I turn the dip switch ON for that pedal it comes on & works,my question is,is this ok or will it fry the pedal? If this is running more volts w/The dip switch ON,am I safe? Newbie w/The Voodoo Lab PP2 Plus :)

Is the writing on the top Black or Silver?

I assume you probably have one of the older production GE-7 pedals that require the ACA power supply. If so, you should power it from any one of outputs 1-4 with the corresponding DIP switch set away from Normal.

Thanks you for reply, yes the GE-7 is around 20 years old,im not sure what year I bought it but it was the early 90's,im not sure what you mean by the writing in Black Or Silver??? It says Equalizer GE-7 in black on top & there is a sticker on the front says use ACA Boss adapter only, should I be ok running dip switch ON in 1-4 position just to double check? Thanks,Greg

Also I must add that The Boss Super Chorus & The Metal Zone Pedals in the picture are also 20 years old, should they be running 1-4 Dip switch away from normal position as well :?:

Outputs 1-4 have the ACA setting when switched away from Normal. Any ACA pedal will be perfectly fine on these outputs... its exactly what they were made to power.

The Black or Silver is one way to tell the age of the GE-7. Black printing is on the older ones that required the ACA adapter. I just figured that since the pedals are mounted that the bottom sticker would likely be obscured or removed all together. ;)

The CH-1 and MT-2 have always been PSA pedals and each can be powered from any output on a Pedal Power 2+ with the corresponding DIP switch set to Normal.

Thanks for all your help,im gettin it haha. I will just go ahead & run everything on normal except for the Boss GE-7 EQ dip switch is away from normal. Thanks again for your help.I love how there is absolutely ZERO hum now.I was using the one spot daisy chain & it had a bad hum going on,now with the Voodoo Lab its not,Silence is golden.Greg
