Help with possible power issues!!

Post by gman1 »

I'm having pedal issues and I think it might be power related. At home everything is wonderful but on stage it's loud obnoxious buzz and hum everytime I even touch the pedals with my foot.

Here's my set-up. I have an older Pedal Power unit. It has eight 9V DC outputs with eight DIP switches on the bottom.

I am plugging in my Hughes and Kettner Tubemeister 18 into the Pedal Power and then the Pedal Power into a regular wall input. The manual says DONT however, the max Power Consumption on the back of the amp says 101W and the Pedal Power allows a max of 200W. Am I ok? Could this affect the power to the pedals?

I am powering the following pedals:
TC Electronic Corona Chorus (mid size, not the mini and not the big one), FlashBack (mid size), Hall of Fame (mini), Poly Tune (mid) and an Electro Harmonix Silencer.

I also have a passive Ernie Ball Volume VPJR.

What should my DIP switches be set to??

Thanks for your help everyone!!!

On the original Pedal Power you would set all the switches to the ON position.

If this is a Pedal Power 2 or 2+ you would set all the switches to "Normal".

You should be OK with using the Courtesy Outlet, but have you tried powering the amp directly from an AC outlet when the problem occurs? If so, did anything change?
