Hey all,
I am seeking advice on what t do with my pigtronix ep-1. It is 12v AC at 833ma ( ). Having just purchased two of these wonderful units, i thought I would be able to power all my pigtronix stuff, but cannot seem to get power to the pedal. I am using the ACA outlets with the dip switch away from the normal position to create the twelve volts. I assume that it is the 833ma that is causing the issue. Is there a way to power this pedal aside from the courtesy outlet?
Somethng else that i noticed and was a little concerned about was how loud my Echolution was when powered by the courtesy outlet. I was adding pedals in and when i got to that one, wow was it noisy. I have ordered the 18v adapter cables to run it through 5 and 6, but I won't have them for another week or so. Is there any reason to think that the pedal will quiet down when powered this way instead of the courtesy outlet?
Thanks,
Steve
Pigtronix and the PP2+
Re: Pigtronix and the PP2+
The EC-1 requires AC power... the Pedal Power 2+ provides DC power. The EC-1 can be powered from either of the high current 9V outputs on a Pedal Power AC, otherwise it will have to be powered using the supplied adapter connected to the Courtesy Outlet on your Pedal Power 2+.
The Courtesy Outlet provides the same mains AC voltage that is coming into the Pedal Power unit. There is no filtering or any other magic performed on the AC output. If you were experiencing noise then it was likely due to the proximity of the wall wart to the other pedals. You can try connecting this with a short extension cord to relocate the wall wart away from the other pedals.
Good Luck!

Re: Pigtronix and the PP2+
Doh!
Yeah that's a bonehead question, really. I am new to the whole idea of a single power unit, but these are a dream come true. The AC outlet has performed very well for the EP-1; I can't even here the LFO "wooshing" which is a first.
I am hoping that when I eventually get my cables that the same can be said for the LFO on my Echolution, which can be noisy. I am currently powering the Echolution from the second PP2+ AC outlet so hopefully it will quiet down when it is powered from 5 & 6...
Thanks!
