Hi guys (1st post here )
I use a PP2+ by a lot of time with great results (great jop VL guys !!!) but I need your help : I just got a MAXON AD999pro delay which have a different Adaptor than the standard AD999, the Pro has a Maxon AC2009 adaptor center negative Output 9V-2.0A Input 100-240v 50-60Hz 0.6A (AC 100v 50-60Hz 36VA, DC 9V-2.0A), powering the pedal with the PP2+ I can only use the 5 or 6 outputs as all other ones cannot power the pedal but with 5 or 6 I get a bit of background noise can you please help me ??
I bought the AD999pro from the USA but I liv ein Europe, the adapter is labeled as 110-240v input but as I try it here I get lots of hiss, someone knows whats wrong??? I dont have a clue...
Thanks a lot
Maxon AD999pro... need help
Re: Maxon AD999pro... need help
The specs state that the AD-999 Pro draws 72mA, however what this does not reflect is the relatively large amount of current required to get the internal voltage converter started that is common to the Pro series pedals. Usually this only affects the startup of the pedal, basically it will either come on or it won't. You may have to use a Current Doubler cable for reliable startup or connect the power to this pedal after everything else is already powered up.
About the noise, you mention that you get noise even with the supplied adapter... is this noise the same regardless of the power source used?

Re: Maxon AD999pro... need help
thanks,
nope the stock adapter brings lots of hiss while using outputs 5 or 6 make the pedal work flawlessly but with a very little bit of background noise its something you can live with but I bought the Pro as its adsvertise as quieter than the AD999, I also have this one and I can power it with any PP2+ output without any noise
