TC Electronic Nova Reverb

Post by kneebody »

has anyone had any luck powering the TC Electronic Nova Reverb with any voodoo lab product?
its power supply has 12vdc 300mA

do pedals always need all the current supplied from their power supplies? is there anyway to find out?

also what is the difference between regulated and unregulated and how can u find out the difference?

thanks gang

The Nova Reverb can be powered using outputs 5 or 6 from a Pedal Power 2+ or from the 12V/300mA output on a Pedal Power ISO-5. (there is some overlap here you will notice from the answer to your other post)

To find out the actual current draw of any device, take your chances by asking the manufacturer or find someone with an Ammeter. ;) Finding this information in an true and accurate form can be quite the hair pulling experience... trust me, I have tried to get info on more pedals than most people could imagine!

A Regulated power supply will maintain a solid voltage across a current range from 0 to the stated maximum current output. An unregulated power supply will provide a lower voltage as the current draw is increased.

Could the pedal power 2+ run the TC Electronic Nova Drive? Would it be the same deal as the Nova Reverb?

Cheers

The Nova Drive is the only Nova or Helicon series pedal that cannot be powered via a single Pedal Power 2+ output. It can be powered from the 12V/300mA output of the ISO-5 or by using a parallel cable connected to outputs 5 and 6 switched to Normal on a Pedal Power 2+.

As always, any Pedal Power cable can be ordered through any Voodoo Lab dealer or directly from us by giving us a call or sending an email to info@voodoolab.com.

The description on that link does not match what we call the PPAP cable.

What we call the PPAP is this...

Image

It is an adapter cable that connects to two Pedal Power DC outputs and combines them to one cable mounted barrel jack. Any Pedal Power cable can then be connected between this adapter and the pedal that requires the higher current power.

In order to use this adapter to power a Nova Drive, you would also need one of the PPBAR cables to mate between the adapter and the pedal. The PPBAR is the standard barrel cable included with all DC Pedal Power units.
