PP2 and Multiple Small Strymon pedals

Post by mjpendrick »

Question about the possibility of powering multiple strymon pedals. Apologies if this has been answered previously. I looked through a lot of old posts but could not find this exact scenario discussed.

I have a PP2+ supply and am looking to power 3 smaller strymon pedals (Flint, El Cap, and Deco) and also a JHS Colour box V2 . All of these pedals can be used with outputs 5 and 6 on the PP2+ but i'm wondering if theres a way to power them all simultaneously . I am already using the Aux AC outlet on the back of the pedal to power something else. Could i use current doubler cables to power the rest of these with the other inputs 1-4 or 7/8? Or maybe use a daisy chain chain cable from 5 or 6 to power all the strymon's and hope they don't get too noisy?

Or do i need to get a different power supply ? Or maybe a cheaper option would be to run some kind of power strip from the Aux outlet and plug in several separate adaptors ?

Your best options are to either power some of them from the AC courtesy outlet with a power strip, etc.(as you suggest) or to add a second supply (or simply use another supply with more high current capacity. Any of the following might work nicely:

Pedal Power 4 x 4
Pedal Power Mondo
Pedal Power X4
