Pedal Power 2 and Ernie Ball Wah Pedal - BAD HUM!!

Post by ashachar »

I just purchased my PP2 and I set it up so that I can hear the difference. I have it plugged into a Mesa Boogie Mark 4. When I went to engage the pedal, I got a really bad hum coming out of it.

Here is my set up:

1 = Korg Pitch Black Tuner
2 = Ernie Ball Wah
AC Plug = Digitech Whammy Pedal
3 = Boss Phase Shifter
4 = Boss Super Chorus
5 = Boss Tremolo TR-2
6 = Line 6 Echo Park pedal

7 & 8 = I plan to hook up my MXR 10 band EQ pedal because is requires 18V.

This is the order of my pedal plugged into my pedal power as well as in my chain through my FX loop in my amp...Am I doing something wrong??

Hey,
I had the exact same problem. I also tried powering it from a T Rex Juicy lucy and it had the same issue. Unfortunately the EB Wah hums really bad when next to any power supply. What you have to do is keep your Wah and pedal power as far away from each other on the board. It worked for me :)
I nearly sold my EB wah because of it!!

That's a real shame...and I finally got my board organized only to have to re-arrange everything haha.

Thanks for the reply though, at least I know its a common problem with the pedal.
