1. Does the PP2+ provide surge protection or only a circuit breaker? If surge protection is provided, is the PP2+ safe to plug into a surge bar and have a 2nd surge bar plugged into the courtesy outlet?

2. Is it possible to daisy-chain the 9v y-cable with 1 ground lift? If so, can you daisy-chain from both leads?

3. Is there a database with information on actual current draw of pedals?

4. When ordering cables, do you ship to Canada? If so, by USPS?

I also intend to put a HOG or POG2 back onto the board, and switch the TZF for a Flanger Hoax now and then. And get more dirt as I can't get enough of it.

The PP2+ does not provide surge protection on the courtesy outlet. However, it is safe to plug the PP2+ into a surge bar with a 2nd surge bar plugged into the convenience outlet so long as the power consumption of the devices on the power strip does not exceed 200 watts.

We strongly recommend against using any sort of “daisy chain” cables on the outputs of the PP2+ for two reasons. Reason 1 is because each output can only source 100mA of current, which is easy to use up with just a couple of pedals (depending on which pedals you’re running off of the output). Reason 2 is because you would defeat the purpose of having isolated outputs.

We do not have a database with information on actual current draw of pedals. Consult your pedals’ owners manual or contact the pedal manufacturer to get detailed current draw specs on your pedals.

Requires PPEH24 voltage doubler adapter with DIP switches that correspond to both of the outputs that the PPEH24 is connected to set away from “Normal”. Outputs 1-4 only.

Both compatible…can be powered from any output or split from one output with our PPAV Y splitter cable with DIP switches set to “Normal”

Compatible. There is no published technical data on this unit but if it will run on a 9V battery then it will work on any of the outputs with the DIP switches for said outputs set to Normal.

If it’s the 24 volt version it will require our PPEH24 cable to power it, which will tie up two outputs on the Pedal Power (can only be on outputs 1-4) and will require the DIP switches on those two outputs to be set away from the Normal position.

The HOG is not compatible with the PP2+. However the POG2 is compatible and can be ran from either output 5 or 6 with DIP switch 5/6 set to Normal

If you're plugging the PP2+ into a surge protector, you'd already be protected... so you wouldn't need another surge protector plugged into the courtesy outlet - unless the only reason is to give you more outlets... in which case you could simply use a splitter.

Please someone correct me if I'm wrong. As far as I know - the only way to get the courtesy outlet protected is to plug the PP2+ into a protected power source, otherwise it's wide open - right?

"Theoretically speaking", plugging the Pedal Power into a surge protector would protect both the PP2+ along with the courtesy outlet.

Plugging a PP2+ into a wall and plugging a surge protector into only the courtesy outlet would protect only those devices on the surge protector itself.

Plugging the PP2+ into a surge protector AND plugging a surge protector into the courtesy outlet doesn't offer any additional benefit other than to serve as a multi outlet source UNLESS a voltage spike somehow makes it through the first surge protector and the 2nd one happens to catch it.

Of course this is all theory as we cannot prove a negative, we don't live in a perfect world, there are seemingly infinite exceptions and seemingly zero absolutes. When it comes to electrical devices there is simply no way to 100% definitively guarantee that plugging equipment into a surge protector will protect it. It will "reduce the risk of" being fried from a voltage spike, but there's always a chance of the MOVs in the surge protector not working as advertised. Just like fuses don't always blow when they should, MOVs don't always filter out voltage spikes like they should either.
