newbie advice needed PEDAL POWER 2+ not working right pedals

hi there,
let me start by saying as a brand new PP2+ owner I am thrilled at the prospect of what I have here, but a little stupified by some issues I am having.
Signal path
tc polytune tuner, barber tone press, analogman ds-1, boss ce-2 (switch 4 "away from normal"), eventide pitchfactor, dts sdd3kp (korg sdd 3000 preamp pedal) to eventide timefactor, line6 dl4
Currently I am running the 2 eventides via a powerstrip through the courtesy outlet on the pedal power.
I tried getting my dl4 to work powered by the PEDAL POWER 2+ and it would not light up, yes I tried it with the red barrel connector in both outlets 5 and 6 with each turned "away from normal" on the tiny switches. and I get nothing at all.
The dl4 will work if I use the line 6 adapter in my powerbar, but I bought the voodoo lab to get away from that. Could I have a faulty red barrel connector?
I am at a loss, I was hoping to have all but the eventides working through the pedal power, again I am new here, am I missing anything?

To start, it would be best to simplify the setup to only using the DL-4 for testing. Try powering only the DL-4 from output 5 or 6 with the DIP switch for the output used set away from Normal and let us know what you find.

Hi John,
as requested I unplugged all other units from the pedal power- at the pedal power end and there is still nothing going to my Line 6 dl4... no lights no audio when the PP2+ is being used to power it.
All the other units are functioning- fine when plugged into the pp2+
ANy other thoughts? The Line6 does function fine when fed by its own factory power supply.
could it be a faulty cable?

If the Pedal Power outputs all work to power other pedals and the DL-4 works when powered using its supplied adapter, I suppose that leaves only the cable as the suspect. We will send you a replacement cable, but if you can try this setup at your local Voodoo Lab dealer you may get to the bottom of this a bit faster than the shipping time would allow.
Good Luck!

Hi John,
thanks for the offer of a replacement cable I do hope that is the answer.
I don't think I have a dealer nearby, I bought from a dealer in Toronto which is about 90 minutes drive from where I live.

The replacement cable will ship out today.
Good Luck!
p.s. I removed your address from your post to protect the innocent.

One more question from me: How to connect right the Eventide Pitchfactor (9 VDC, 1200 mA, Tip hot (+)) and the PP2+?

The PitchFactor can be powered from a Pedal Power 2+ using our current doubler cable connected to both outputs 5 and 6 with the DIP switches set away from Normal.
Good Luck!

I'm not any expert in electricity, but as i understood it will deliver about 24v and PitchFactor is 9v device.
I'm afraid to connect it in such way
Tell me please, how does it works?

The current doubler doubles current only, not voltage. It joins the two outputs it's connected to in parallel for double the current source at the same voltage. In this configuration, the current draw is "shared" between the outputs so each of the two outputs on the current doubler only have to source 1/2 the total current being drawn by the pedal. Essentially you'll be converting outputs 5 & 6 into a single 12V @ 500mA output.
The PitchFactor is a 9VAC device. Once the 9VAC is internally rectified/filtered into DC, it comes out to be about 11.5VDC. Moreover, the Factor series is internally regulated down to what it needs to be. This means that the 12V unregulated output of the Pedal Power 2+ is perfect for this device.
We as well as Eventide have done extensive testing of the Factor series with both the Pedal Power ISO 5 as well as the Pedal Power 2+ with the current doubler. They work flawlessly, and as such we as well as Eventide support this as "accepted practice". We as the manufacturer of the Pedal Power product line would not support this practice if it were not safe to do nor would Eventide support it if it was something known to cause high product failure rate on their product line. Rest assured we have done the testing...and it works like a charm.
