Hi,

I've read several posts on this but don't have a definitive answer. Does anybody know exactly what kind of cable I need to plug into the Courtesy Outlet of my PP2+ here in England?

I've got a couple of pedals that can't be powered by the PP2. At present, I use a power strip to power these and my pedal power unit. I'd much rather run the other pedals from the courtesy outlet to both eliminate unecessary wall wart usage but to also have the added benefits of the PP2's surge protection.

I just don't know what kind of cable / power strip connection I have to plug into the PP2 Courtesy socket. Any ideas? A link to one would be really appreciated.

That is a Reverse IEC jack, sometimes referred to as an IEC Extension jack. The kind folks at Sounds Great should be able to help you get what you need to use this outlet.

I must point out that the Courtesy Outlet on any Pedal Power unit has no filtering/regulating/protection of any kind and is simply an outlet connected directly to the mains AC power input jack. Likely the power strip you are using will provide some surge protection, however if you are simply powering wall wart type power supplies I would have to say that surge protection is not necessary. A typical wall wart power supply is a type of step down transformer... in this case stepping 240VAC down to 9 or 12VAC. A surge on the mains power would have to be amazingly huge to even slightly affect the stepped down output of a typical 9V or 12V power supply.
