Connect 9V battery snap to pedal power jack?

Post by Cajun Queen »

I know this might not be the intended use of this cable:
But, can I use it to power my TC Elec Mini-Spark pedal with a battery.
i.e. Connect a battery to the snap, and plug the other (female) end of the cable into the power jack of the MiniSpark.

Seems like this idea should work? :)

This will not actually work since the polarity will be reversed at the Barrel Plug. :(

On this cable the battery snap is intended to replace a battery, rather than connect to a battery. Just like on a 9V battery, the smaller terminal is the Positive (+) and the larger one is the Negative (-) terminal. If you then connect a Battery to these terminals it will be backward resulting in the polarity at the other end to be Center Positive.

I hope that helps!
