New to Forum, Pedalboard Signal Chain

Post by PaGator »

Hey guys new to the forum. I would like your recommendation on the "best" order for my pedals. I recognize there is no absolute but based on your experience I'd appreciate your thoughts.

Everything is in front of the amp as I play through either a vintage Fender 65 Princeton or 66 Super Reverb. The pedals I have are:

Analogman KOT
Analogman Bi Chorus
Analogman Delay ARDX20
Analogman Tap/Tempo for delay
Analogman Compressor
Analogman Sun Face Fuzz
Fulltone Clyde Deluxe Wah
dc Electronics Tuner

I'm installing on a PedalTrain Pro with a VL Pedal Power 2+.

Thanks in advance!

With all in front of the amp I'd go with basicilly the order you have below, just backwards. So tuner first, than the compressor -wah - fuzz etc. I prefer the modulation effects (delay, chorus etc) after all the OD/distortion stuff. But as you say, there is no 'right way'.

Your Current Chain:
Analogman KOT
Analogman Bi Chorus
Analogman Delay ARDX20
Analogman Tap/Tempo for delay
Analogman Compressor
Analogman Sun Face Fuzz
Fulltone Clyde Deluxe Wah
dc Electronics Tuner

I would go with the following (as a starting point):

Tuner -> Wah -> Chorus -> KOT -> Fuzz -> Comp -> Delay

Maybe the Chorus after the Comp...

I'd suggest:

Tuner -> Wah -> Comp -> KOT -> Fuzz -> Chorus -> Delay

or try switching the KOT and Fuzz...which ever way sounds better for your needs.

I have a Analogman AstroTone Fuzz and it sounds real good in my set up before my OCD v2...I'll stack 'em together for some extra growl. I've run my Wah at the end of my chain before...I preferred it there for my mostly rhythmic style of playing. It really depends on what your suits your playing style and your ear prefer. But, I'd definitely suggest the Chorus and Delay at the end of your chain.
