Hi guys,
I'm a new PP2 user and really pleased with the unit so far. I'm fairly new to the world of power supplies etc so my only source of reference has been the instruction manual + advice on forums. I've got a new Neo Mini Vent II on the way which I'm really excited about but have learnt that it requires a slightly more tailored solution to be used with the PP2. I've seen some conflicting information online and just wanted some confirmation from someone who knows their stuff before I plug it in and risk doing it some damage.
The pedal requires 12v, 500mA positive polarity supply. I've seen the following suggested set-up on one forum which seems to make sense to me:
- Plugged into outputs 5 AND 6 with a green-tipped current doubler adapter (combining both 250mA supplies to make up the 500mA required)
- BOTH dip switches for 5 and 6 set away from normal (providing the unit with 12v instead of the standard 9v)
- Connected from adapter to pedal with a white-tipped reverse polarity cable
With my very limited understanding of electronics I'd be really grateful for any advice or further suggestions - even just a 'thumbs up' if the above would do the trick!
Thanks for reading and I'll look forward to hearing from you
James
PP2 advice for powering 12v 500mA Neo mini vent ii!
Re: PP2 advice for powering 12v 500mA Neo mini vent ii!
This pedal draws much less than the 500mA the supplied adapter is capable of providing. On a Pedal Power 2+ you can use Output 5 OR 6 with the corresponding DIP switch set away from Normal and a Reverse Polarity Barrel Cable.
I hope that helps!

Hi John,
That really does help, and it frees up an additional power output for me to use with another pedal!
Cheers,
James
