Superfuzz logic

Post by Lepistoe »

Hi! I just bought second hand Superfuzz and I'm confused. I don't know if it works correctly or not. Is the "attack" knob supposed to act like gain control in a tube amp and "volume" like main volume. So if I crank the volume knob all the way up and attack all the way down I get no sound. Is this the way it should function?

Thanks and greetings from Finland.

It is normal for the Superfuzz to act this way. Attack all the way down kills the signal.

I hope that helps!

Seems like it's not about the logic... I've got all knobs at full and I only get really weak fart-like sound.. What could be the problem?

Wait... it took you 6 months to turn the knob from all the way down to all the way up? ;)

With all the knobs cranked the Superfuzz should certainly not sound thin.

I know you're quite a ways away but we can offer to take a look at it for you if you'd like to send it back to us for an inspection/repair... if you'd like to d that, write to info@voodoolab.com and be sure to mention this thread and that I sent you.

Well the pedal did work okay for 6 months :D

I paid about 20 bucks for the pedal so it's not worth sending it over...though it's a good sounding pedal when it works :)

Should I maybe contact some DIY-pedal forum or can you make any suggestions what could be broken without seeing it?

I've got some diy-electronics knowhow so if it's simple as desoldering and soldering something, I can figure it out myself :D

Thanks anyway :)

Is the problem only when all the knobs are cranked or is it now also not working in other positions?

Maybe check for broken pots would be a first guess without seeing it myself.
