What's the likelihood of seeing the guitar preamp this year?

The tone ruled. Wish I hadn't sold it (though I needed the money at the time). Is it for all intents and purposes shelved, or will we see it again in the near future? (PLEASE don't change the tone. At all. EDIT: And please keep it 1U!)

I just cannot say... It is something that I too would like to see go back into production, but for now all I can say is that it is not currently in production.
If and when it does happen, it will be the same preamp circuit. That is the only thing that I do know is set in (s)tone.
I know it doesn't really help, but... I hope that helps!

I see it's gone from your website. Has it been permanently shelved? (I got a used one, but I'm still curious.)

Question: the Sovtek 12AX7LPS has piqued my interest. Can I put it in all 4 positions? I've read here and there that it "can't handle" a cathode follower stage. I have no idea what that is and haven't been able to decipher the tech talk about it, so I just need a stupid-simple "you can throw 4 of em in there" or "don't put them in position x" type answer.

The 12AX7LPS should be just fine in the Voodoo Lab preamp. You can put them in any position or all four.
FYI: V1 and V4 are the Clean Channel. V2 and V3 are both of the gain channels.
I hope that helps!

Is the XLR recording out supposed to be louder than the 1/4" main outs, and a lot louder than the 1/4" recording out? That's what I'm hearing.

The Preamp Outputs should be quite a bit hotter than either of the Direct Outputs.
What are you feeding the various outputs into when seeing this level difference?

EDIT: Never mind. I must've done something wrong the first time. I checked again, and everything seems right. From lowest to highest output: 1/4" direct out, XLR out, 1/4" main outs. And they all sound awesome.
Though there's a slight difference in tone/character between the 1/4" and XLR outs.

Right on! I was reading up the Babyface and saw no good reason for it to not work with the Direct Outs. I expect that the Preamp Outs will likely crush the input of the interface.
Glad it got sorted!
