Forgive me for a possibly stupid question but can I use the 12v-18v voltage doubler cable to power a 9v pedal? I think that's what the cable is. It has an end that splits into a short cable and a longer one with a yellow end.
I'm too chicken to try it and possibly fry a pedal.
I just bought an old Pedal Power v1 that has eight 9v outputs. It only came with four 9v cables, a voltage doubler, and the other cables.
Thanks!
Can I use a 12v - 18v voltage doubler for a 9v pedal?
Re: Can I use a 12v - 18v voltage doubler for a 9v pedal?
I don't think you have our Voltage Doubler Adapter... either way, it is not intended for use with 9V pedals. We don't make any cable with a yellow end.
You can order any Voodoo Lab cables you need directly from us or get them from any Voodoo Lab dealer.
I hope that helps!

Thanks JohnClark!
I think you are right. Here is a pic of what I have.

Looks like a custom made cable. It certainly didn't come from us. Whatever it does, it likely isn't appropriate for a standard 9V pedal.
Let us know what are the pedals you are trying to power and we can tell you what the correct cables would be.

Re: Can I use a 12v - 18v voltage doubler for a 9v pedal?
I really appreciate the info John. Sorry for the elementary question!
I'm powering an Electro Harmonix Silencer.
The other pedals are covered with the other cords with the Pedal Power.
More than likely i'll be ordering some cables from you all today or tomorrow.

Re: Can I use a 12v - 18v voltage doubler for a 9v pedal?
You should be able to power the Silencer with the original Pedal Power from any output with the corresponding DIP switch set to ON using the 2.1mm Standard Polarity (Center Negative) Barrel Cable.
Good Luck!

Hey John,
Would I be able to power a Dunlop cry baby GCB95 with one of the 9V outputs on my Pedal Power?

Re: Can I use a 12v - 18v voltage doubler for a 9v pedal?
You can power the GCB-95 from any output on the original Pedal Power with the corresponding DIP switch set to the ON position. You will need one of the standard all black barrel cables, or if it is an older model with the mini phone jack you would use the 3.5mm Mini Plug cable.gman1 wrote:Hey John,
