Help with Proctavia losing bottom end

Hi, for some reason occasionally I keep experiencing a complete loss of bottom end whether the pedal is on or not(when the effect is on it sounds almost like no dry signal is being past through with the effect) which seems to stem from my proctavia. I say this because when I touch the pedal casing a few times the bass will suddenly come back. Also when the issue happens it's normally just after I've turned it on/off.
The pedal is the only one I have battery operated as it has a positive ground (I don't have an isolated power supply), but I don't know if this would cause any issues like this?

Has anyone else had this happen? Is there anyway to rectify the problem? It's not all the time, but it's enough that it makes me have to think about whether I want to turn it on for risk of losing the bottom end.

Signal chain is:
Korg Pitchblack -> Boss NS-2 (in the chain; Dunlop mini wah -> Boss CS-3 -> Proctavia -> Fulldrive 2) ->Boss Super Octave -> Marshall Chorus -> Hardwire Delay -> Wampler reverb -> TC looper
All the pedals are powered via a none isolated Carl Martin power brick I've owned for years with no issue. Only one not powered via it is the Proctavia which is on batteries.
Thanks for any help :)

edit: I should also add that I've tried it with the power supply (using a positive ground adapter) and it works, but still experiences the same issues

Good job isolating the problem!

I would first check that the nut on the bypass switch is snug. This will affect the chassis ground connection is it is loose.

Otherwise I guess I'd suspect the bypass switch itself. Feel free to give us a call or write to info@voodoolab.com so we can arrange for an inspection and any necessary repair.

I hope that helps!

Thanks, I'll take a look.

I have emailed there anyway :), however if it does need a repair do you have UK based repair technicians or is it strictly US based?

Thanks again

In the UK we have Westside Distribution. Certainly check in with them before shipping all the way to us.

I hope that helps!
