Pedalboard set up

Post by bk223 »

Hey There

I currently have a couple of items: A Voodoo Labs Pedal Power AC and PP2+ connected using an IEC cable, A Strymon Timeline (with a current doubler cable in outputs 5 and 6 of the PP2+), A Proco Rat 2, A Boss GE-7, A Boss FZ-5, Boss CS-3, A Boss RC-30, A Beat Buddy Mini and Boss ME-80.

I will probably add 1 or 2 more pedals but right now I just have no idea how to set my pedalboard up effectively so that everything is powered properly and I still have space for 1/2 other Pedals

Thanks

Bailey

For the pedals you list, I would first suggest running the Timeline from its included power adapter using the Courtesy Outlet on the back of the Pedal Power 2+. This will free up outputs 5 and 6 to use for your Beat Buddy Mini and ME-80. Both of these should be powered with the corresponding DIP Switches set to Normal.

All the rest of your pedals can be powered from any of the remaining outputs with the corresponding DIP Switches also set to Normal.

This would leave you with one output for an additional lower current pedal, or to use our Output Splitter Adapter to power two lower current pedals from a single output.

You don't seem to have a use for the Pedal Power AC with this set of pedals so it doesn't provide much help here. A Pedal Power Digital, or the new Pedal Power X4 would make a good addition to this setup to add four more outputs. Either one could be powered from the Courtesy Outlet on your Pedal Power 2+ and either one could power the Timeline and your other two high current pedals as well as any of your other low current pedals.

I hope that helps!

Thanks for that.

Could I power any of my pedals using the AC? I thought I could use it for the Beat Buddy Mini, ME-80 and Boss RC 30 Twin Pedal (which requires AC power and a higher current output).

All of your pedals require DC power at their power jacks. None of them can be powered directly from the front panel outputs of the Pedal Power AC.

I do see that I overlooked the RC-30
It can be powered using our Current Doubler Adapter (the one with the Green End) connected to any two outputs on the Pedal Power 2+ with the corresponding DIP Switches set to Normal. With that your existing setup will use all the outputs on the Pedal Power 2+.

I hope that helps!
