Hey guys, I'm getting some buzz from my NS2 no matter where I put it in my rack. I've tried moving it around away from power sources etc, just can't figure out why it won't stop humming.
I use the CPR Mini to kill the gain of a distorted channel to make it clean, and that has slight buzzing too. The powerscreamer buzzes anyway because it's insane. I haven't used the loops of the NS2 as I like to switch the NS2 off and switch the PS on for leads. I use a Furman power conditioner (away from the GCX to avoid proximity hum)
Any tips would be great!
My GCX is setup as below

Re: Noise Surpressor Hum/Buzz
How are you powering the pedals? If this is all in a rack, how are the pedals mounted? Where exactly do you plug your guitar in to this rig?

Hey John, I'm powering them using the Pedal Power 2
The guitar plugs into:

Re: Noise Surpressor Hum/Buzz
I'm still a little unsure of how you're using the NS-2. It sounds to me like you only want it on when using the Mini and off when using the PS? I may be wrong, but working with that premise, I've got a suggestion.
First off, I suspect you have the Loop 1 Send jack connected to the Tuner In and the Loop 1 Out jack connected to the Loop 2 In jack. You may or may not have a cable running from the Tuner Out jack back to the Loop 1 Return jack, but if you do it's redundant and can be removed.
Now getting back to the connections, my preference is to use the NS-2's loop, and by doing so - working with the above premise - you can free up a loop for future use, making the connections as follows:
Loop 1 Send -> NS-2 In; NS-2 Send -> CPR Mini In; CPR Mini Out -> NS-2 Return; NS-2 Out -> Loop 2 Return; Loop 2 Out -> Loop 3 In. When Loop 1 is active, both the NS-2 and the CPR Mini are in your signal chain. Turn Loop 1 off and both are bypassed. I would suggest programming your foot controller to turn Loop 3 OFF while Loop 2 is active.
Then put your HBE PS in Loop 3 as follows:
Loop 3 Send -> HBE PS In; HBE PS Out -> Loop 3 Return; Loop 3 Out -> Amp Input.
This gives you the PS all by itself, and to ensure that happens every time, I would also suggest programming your foot controller to turn Loop 2 OFF while Loop 3 is active. This way you need only hit one "button" to switch between the two signal chains.
Let me know if this makes any difference for you, or if I totally misunderstood your objective.

Re: Noise Surpressor Hum/Buzz
Hey! thanks for the suggestions
I only use the NS2 to tighten up rhythm playing on dirty. I turn it off for lead.
#1 send is to tuner and return has nothing in it. I switch #1 on after a tune to kill the sound and see the tuner (i only have a digitech pedal tuner)
My sounds are
1. Rhythm - with no pedals
2. Rhythm - with NS-2
3. Lead - with HBE PS, Delay & EQ
4. Clean - with CPR Mini & Delay (+ possibly NS2)
I'm trying stuff out today. Here's a shot of my current setup

Re: Noise Surpressor Hum/Buzz
DOH, problem solved. It was proximity to a power cable.
Sorry for the hassle!
