Hi There!
I have an interesting problem where I lose volume when I switch in the loops for my DOD 250 overdrive or EHX Big Muff.
My setup is as follows -
Guitar > Buffered input of GCX
Buffer Output > Loop 1
Loop-through > Boss TU-2 Tuner
Loop 1 > Currently Unused
Loop 2 > Digitech Whammy
Loop 3 > DOD 250
Loop 4 > EHX Big Muff
Loop 5 > Unused (used as mute switch)
Loop 6 > Boss DD-6
Loop 7 > EHX Holy Grail
Loop 8 > Currently Unused
Loop 8 Output > Orange AD30H
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Overdrive / Fuzz Signal Loss in GCX
Re: Overdrive / Fuzz Signal Loss in GCX
OK, so I had a play last night and I have managed to get the DOD 250 sounding as it used to - I ended up putting the buffer after the distortion part of the signal chain.
HOWEVER the Big Muff still sounds substantially quieter than when it is connected directly. It even sounds quiet when I plug my guitar into loop4 input, and my amp into loop4 output...
Loop 4 Input < Guitar
Loop 4 Send > Big Muff
Loop 4 Return < Big Muff
Loop 4 Output > Amp
The buffer position seems to not affect the volume of the Big Muff...
Any ideas guys?

Re: Overdrive / Fuzz Signal Loss in GCX
There is no reason the fuzz should sound any different through the GCX loop when not using the buffer, carefully check your cables or try another set. If that does not help, try cleaning any jacks with an electronics cleaner/de-greaser. Try to use something that does not leave behind an oily residue. Let us know what you find.

I'll give it a go after work tonight... Thanks for the advice!

Yup, all good now... Must have been a dodgey length of cable - I checked my soldering and it looked fine.
I would like to comment that I am very impressed with the quality of the units (GCX and GCP). Two accolades I thought worth mentioning are; My wife thought it was cool that you could name presets, and my bassist said (without any prompting) that my sound quality was noticably better with the GCX. Everyone knows that wives and bassists are a guitarist's greatest critics, so well done!
