Ground Control not sending midi

I recently purchased a ground control (not Pro) & purchased upgrade chip & memory. Everything seemed to install fine so I set up unit for bank 4 mode & defined devices and midi channel. The ground control is apparently not sending any midi at all... program or ia messages. To confirm that the problem is with the Ground control and not the rack unit (Axe-Fx), first tried different midi cable, then order of turn on, next tried changing programs on 2 other rack pieces Motif Es Rack & Roland U220. I hooked them up one at a time with no success. Finally, I connected a Roland FC200 midi pedal to the rack pieces and it worked with all three.....what should I check with the Ground Control? I tried going to standard mode, changed midi channel on Ground Control and set up rack piece first to same channel and then to omni, still with no success. I NEED HELP!! I really want to use the Ground control because of the led readout instead of the fc200's 2 number display

If in doubt, try re-initializing the Ground Control memory. This will clear any settings and make all the presets send a program change message on MIDI channel 1. Let us know what happens.

Hi John! I re-initialized unit twice with no success in sending midi program change. I had the Fc-200 connected to the Axe-Fx which has an led that lights when there is midi activity. I just disconnected it and plugged in the ground control and pushed some buttons but got no program changes or led activity indicated. As a last resort, I connected my usb midi interface to the computer. It also indicates midi activity regardless of channel, but pressing buttons on the GC showed no activity whatsoever.
I don't know where to go from here..... I'm able to go to all the setup modes as indicated in the manual, but am just not getting any midi out. HELP!

Did this start failing after installing the upgrade chips? If so, open everything up again and carefully check that all the pins inserted into the socket properly.

John, I can't confirm that it worked before the upgrade.... I had just gotten it and ordered the upgradechips before I ever tried to use it. I will still go thru process of confirming chips properly installed. If that's not it, what's the next step. Thanks

John, per our conversation, I checked all connections & ran continuity checks to look for broken traces. I couldn't find any ( doesn't mean there aren't some ), reassembled & again re-initialized.....still no midi out. I guess I'll have to send the unit in to you.
