I am so confused...

Post by steelydanfan »

Is there a GC Pro for Dummies book? I have a pretty simple setup. GCX with the following in the loops, no midi devices(yet)

Fulltone Boost
Barber Gain Changer
Voodoo Lab Temolo
Leslie 760 Speaker
Fulltone Deja Vibe
EH Q-Tron
Loop for pedal board

I have been using a Ground Link forever and would like to set up the GC Pro with some presets to control combinations of pedals, maybe a G Major down the road. I am at a loss to get even the loops to work without having to initialize every time I turn my rig on.

Thanks for any insight

Once your Fulltone Boost, Barber Gain Changer, Voodoo Lab Tremolo, Leslie 760 Speaker, Fulltone Deja Vibe, and EH Q-Tron pedals are all connected to your GCX getting your GCPro to control them is not all that difficult, but let's start with a clean slate.

Please refer to the section titled Quick Start on Page 5 of the GCPro Manual and follow the instructions provided there to reset your GCPro to the default factory settings.

Next, please refer to the section titled Utility on Page 12 of the GCPro Manual and follow the instructions provided there to configure your GCPro to the 4 Presets/Bank mode.

At this point, the top two rows of Instant Access buttons (1 thru 8) will activate/deactivate your GCPro loops. The bottom row of buttons will be used to call up presets, both on external MIDI Devices and/or presets you've programmed into the GCPro.

Last but not least, please refer to the section titled Controlling The GCX Guitar Audio Switcher on Page 19 of the GCPro Manual and follow the instructions provided there to program your GCPro Presets.

Let us know if you're still experiencing any problems.

Thanks. After reading the manual a few times I realized I need to take the steps you mentioned. Still working on the presets. I'm sure there will be more questions to come. Thanks for the help.
