Can you send actual pics of the wireing? I don't understand the spit for the 2 amps.

The Y-Cable in the drawing would have Mono plugs on all three ends.

I hope that helps!

hey all!

sorry for getting back to you this late - i've been recording an album in Germany, only got back now. back to life. :D

so, i'll post pictures of the actual wireing etc. asap! As it is now I split the signal with the GCX Audio Switcher using the "Guitar in" and its two outputs. in order to avoid the (normally) resulting hum/ground loop I have a DI box in front of one of the Herberts.

ok, i'll be back with pictures - and questions! because programming seems to cause several problem.

thanks and cheers!!

Now, as expected, I did run into a problem while trying to program the whole thing. So far I have worked with the ProStage X07 to control the amp. Now, with the Strymon Timeline involved, I can't figure out how to make this possible with the Ground Control Pro and Audio Switcher.

What I want:

A preset per bank for each song, to simply switch from bank to bank as we go on in our set.

For instance, Bank 1 is the first song of the set. I'll need the clean channel with a specific delay for the verses, the crunch channel dry for the chorus, the crunch channel with another delay (not the same as in verse) for another part of the song and the lead channel with yet another delay.

As I have it now, the GCX is connected to Herbert 1, then via MIDI Thru to Herbert 2, MIDI Thru to Strymon Timeline.

What I can't do:

How do I store a specific setting? With the ProStage X07 I simply set the amps the way I needed them and then I pushed "store" on the amps twice. Done. Now with the Ground Control, weird things are happening :) When I store a setting I keep losing other settings. I have NO control hehe... But I think I am messing things up. So, I guess I need a little help for the steps I should take... I don't know if I made myself clear. I hope someone understands :)

Thanks everyone!!

PS: Before I post any pictures: I am currently re-arranging the FX section as I changed and added some pedals and need to fix this first.

On the Ground Control Pro, what do you have in the Device Name/Channel section under MIDI?

There are Eight locations in the lise. Each one will have a Device Name and a MIDI Channel, or be Blank with "--" for the Channel. What do you have programmed for each space in the list?

oookay, so, things kinda start working here... :)

I had not chosen names/channels for the devices yet, thank you JohnClark!!

Now I am able to program presets, it's great! Though I think I have not quite figured out how precisely to communicate with the Timeline. I can set different delays, but I do not quite understand what is happening when I change channels on the Ground Control... :) but I might figure it out. I'm on it.

At this point another question just came up: can I actually put the Timeline's TAP function on the Ground Control, too?

Thanks for your precious help!!

You can reprogram one of the Instant Access buttons to control Tap on the Timeline.

Look to the Instant Access section of the Ground Control Pro manual under Setup Mode. The MIDI Continuous Controller On/Off heading will show you how to re-assign an Instant Access Button.

For Remote Tap on the TimeLine you will want to set the button to Controller #93 and use the same MIDI Channel that you have assigned to the TimeLine. The button action will be left at its default of "Normal".

Let us know if you get stuck!
