Original Ground Control midi in mod?

Any chance a mod can be done to an original DM Ground Control to allow midi in?
Would like to do program changes from Ableton Live to switch my presets into
the Ground Control and midi clock sync my pedal board. I know this will work with the new pro version
but just thought I would ask for my older model.

There isn't a mod for adding a MIDI In that I know of...

But there is a trick... get a MIDI Solutions Merger and either use it externally as is, or try to shove it inside the Original Ground Control chassis.

It will do a better job of handling all the real time and clock data anyway.
