GCX/GCP/expression & volume pedal question

Post by Wyldechild13 »

Is it at all possible to use a volume pedal/expression pedal(connected to my GCP) to control the volume of individual loops? For example, say I have a regular, non midi, pedal plugged into a loop in the GCX, connected to my amps FX loop. Is it possible to program the GCP & GCX to control the volume of that specific loop using either a volume or expression pedal? If it is, can I program it the same way to control multiple loops? Thanks!

The GCX does not have any level control built in. Volume control via MIDI is something you would usually find on an effects processor or MIDI preamp... do you have any other MIDI devices in this rig?

Are you having trouble with levels being off for standard pedals in GCX Loops?

No problems with levels whatsoever. I was just simply trying to have something like this for example:Clean channel, no effects, and just have the overall volume of say, a delay pedal, or chorus pedal, so that the signal of that effect slowly comes into the mix of that certain channel if you will. The only midi device I am running is my EVH 5150 III 50w. Thanks for the reply!

ah ha! This isn't something a true bypass switcher would normally be capable of since it is intended to fully remove the bypassed effect from the signal chain. What you are describing gets into being more of a job for a mixer since it isn't necessarily volume you are controlling but the dry vs wet signal ratio. The Sound Sculpture Switchblades are the only switchers I know of that might do this.

I hope that helps!
