2 gcp expansion in new update...will ISO5 power both gcps?

We know that the ISO5 will power one GCP.....say I get another GCP to take advantage of the new GCP instant access mode update...will the ISO5 be able to power both GCPS if they are linked with phantom power?

For instance, the iso5 will power the Master gcp...and the 2nd gcp through phantom power through the midi cable?

Does the ISO5 have the juice to do it?

You would need two power sources to power two Ground Control Pro units. Phantom Power comes from the GCX (or other capable rack device) but it does not carry on thru to the MIDI In of the Ground Control Pro.
For your particular setup, would I be correct to assume that there are other things you need to power out on the floor rather than just the two Ground Control Pro units? Is there anything in the rack that provides Phantom Power via the MIDI cable?

...About powering both gcps with an ISO5 only one GCP powered for the isolated output......couldn't find it in the manual, so I'm guessing the ISO5 doesn't have a courtesy out? Isolation is not as critical in this instance since no audio is involved on my pedalboard...only midi so no big deal.

Man I'm stoked about the new update. How long will it be until can I send you guys money for this update lol?

This isn't a matter of Isolation as much as it is just that there simply isn't enough current to power two Ground Control Pro units from a single ISO-5. My question is still the same... What else might you be running out on the floor and is there anything in the rack that will provide Phantom Power...a GCX perhaps?

Thanx John, just a tuner on the board besides the gcp. I have nothing that can provide phantom power from the rack unfortunately. My midi cable goes from the GCP to a midi thru box mounted in the back of the rack. My switcher doesn't have phantom power either.

I have all my pedals and a pp2+ on a shelf in the rack. My pedalboard is midi only.

Well that is quite the little predicament... you could have your MIDI interface modded to provide phantom power to Ground Control Pro #2 and power the tuner and Ground Control Pro #1 out on the floor.

A totally different approach would be to use the supplied adapters for all three devices out on the floor. Seeing that the tuner is the only audio device on the board should provide ample room to keep the wall warts far away enough to eliminate any noise coupling that may occur.

THanks a bunch John. Yeah, not really a lot I can do. I don't really have to worry since I have my tuner fed by a split, the signal doesn't have to go back to the rack(1 way) from the board so noise is not an issue. Oh well....more money for the control switcher.

I'm so happy about the new update for the gcp and the control switcher release. I hope they come soon...I'm in dire need of more IA and relay functions, and I'm sticking with my VL gear!
