GCX and Ground Control Pro - can order of effects be swapped?

I have a GCX and a GCP - seems to work fine, I have it wrapped around an ENGL E530 preamp to where it switches its channels and gain stage, so that works out great. I am also looking to place a few fx before the preamp and a few in the loop. In the preamp I'll have most likely just a tuner and noise gate.

Tuner when activated mutes, so first question if there is a way to run the tuner outside of the loop, without it using inputs of the GCX? The THRU maybe?


Also - can che effect path be changed?
While I am working on this, I've thought that I might want to run say on the GXC in fx loop #5 Chorus+#6 Delay+#7 EQ in some instances and in others I want to have
#7 EQ+ #5Chorus for example, is this possible to program?

Yes, you can feed a signal to your tuner from the Rear Panel Thru jack. Conversely, as long as your tuner mutes when activated, you could feed your tuner from the Rear Panel Guitar Out jack and then connect the Tuner Out to the Loop1 In jack, thus leaving the Guitar Thru jack open for possible future uses. You might also want to consider routing your guitar signal from the Rear Panel Guitar Out to the Tuner, then to the Noise Gate, and from there to the Loop1 In.

With regard to your second question, no, it is not possible to change the order of the effects connected to your GCX. You would need a more sophisticated switching unit to do that, e.g., something along the lines of a SoundSculpture SwitchBlade GL, which would require a substantially higher monetary investment.

@nyteowl - thank you, didn't think of that and it can save me extra space on the switcher to add other effects...
