Ground Control and TC Electronic Nova Drive

Post by borehead »

Hi!

I have a TC Electronic Nova Drive that I wish to use with a Ground Control Pro.
The Nova Drive responds to MIDI CC:s and Program Changes.

My question is;

Can I connect a MIDI cable to the Nova Drive and use it just in Instant Access mode from the GCP? The way I have it now is that it responds to the program changes.
Is there a way to turn off the program change function on the GCP so it just sends IA to the TC pedal?

Best regards and many thanks,
Johan Borehed

The Ground Control Pro Instant Access buttons can be programmed to send any Control Change message on the MIDI channel of your choice. Refer the the Instant Access section of the Ground Control Pro manual under Setup Mode, particularly the MIDI Continuous Controller On/Off area for information on how to program these buttons. Let us know if you run into any stumbling blocks.

OK, got it!

But will it still do program change? The Nova Drive responds to that, but I don't want to change presets on the Drive when I change presets and banks on the GCP.
Can I customize it on the specific MIDI-channel for the Drive?

Program Changes come from Ground Control Pro presets that you create... if you don't want this device to receive any Program Changes either set the Ground Control Pro to not send them on the MIDI channel your device is set to respond to or set the device to a MIDI channel you are not currently sending Program Changes on.
If you only want it to not respond to some presets enter either a 00 or 128 (the screen will display two dashes) on the Ground Control Pro preset. Information on writing Ground Control Pro presets can be found in the Edit Preset section of the Ground Control Pro manual.
