long story and I'm really only asking because I have both and I'm bored from quarantine but, could a PX8+ be configured to control the ground control pro?
Also, while we're on the subject anyway, is there any plan in the future to expand the modi capabilities of the GCP?
Can ground control pro be controlled?

According to the manual, it can accept program changes on whatever MIDI channel you assign in the setup->MIDI menu.
Would you then have the PX8+ and pedalboard at your feet and the GCP/remainder of the rig back at the amp?

To make a very long story short, I bought the px8 and the GCP at the same time after someone poured a beer all over my board in the middle of a show that ruined half my rig. I was using a rack at the time anyway but, i wanted redundancy incase the GCP ever went down so I could just grab my board from behind me and keep playing.
So anyway, i ended up finding out that the old pedal switcher units work the same way I was using the PX8+ and they're small enough to rack mount so I could eliminate a few things to carry to a gig.
So now, i have a px8+ just sitting around with nothing to do and I was just curious. No plans to use it live, just messing around at the house tinkering.

Hi there,
If you are going to use it as a backup, I’d just create presets with it that are usable for the main presets that you have on the GC Pro and if it does go down, all you do is unplug and plug in.
It can be added to the GC Pro so that you have more buttons for presets

GCPro, GCX, Pedal Power 2+, Pedal Power AC.
And some other stuff.
