RC network across relay GCX

Post by Rico Coolen »

Parallel across the coil of each relay of the GCX is an RC network. Can anyone help me with the values of both capacitor and resistor? I believe the R is 15ohm. Can anyone confirm that?
And does this circuit serve to prevent noise on the audio path when the relay is switched off?

That should be a 150 ohm, and a 2.2uF... do you have a GCX you are repairing?

The purpose of the circuit is to sort of soften the relay switching to keep the popping to a minimum.

No I am still looking at what kind of system I want to use as a looper for my fx pedals. I was already working on a DIY looper, but then I dropped the GCX and it looks very promising. And through the internet I saw some gutshots and then I immediately noticed the rc network that was parallel to the coil. And I had never seen this like this before. Hence the question.
So the question is mainly from an interest technical point of view
