Upcoming new Rig, some wiring questions

Post by Ori0n »

Hey Guys!
New to these forums, and I love how helpful all you guys are.
I'm setting up an improved bass rig with a gcx switcher to control my foot pedals and was hoping to get some advice on wiring.

Is there anyway to come straight in from the back of the gcx, since it'll be rackmounted, my signal will be coming from my preamp, and I was hoping not to have to run anything to the front unless absolutely necessary.

I just plan to run a chorus, rotary, rat distortion and a ns2 noise suppressor controlled by the gcx with a behringer fcb-1010 since I have one at my disposal free of charge.

The NS2 will be always on, so perhaps it doesn't even need to be in a loop.

I understand each pedal needs to be plugged into each loops send and return, and each loops out wired to the next loop in, but what should I do about the incoming and outgoing signal?

Would it be prudent to put this before my compressor?

Thanks!
I will provide any more information if I have not been thorough enough!

You can run from the output of your preamp directly to the In of the first GCX loop you are using, run as many loops as you need in series, then take the Out of the last GCX loop in the chain directly to the power amp input. The NS-2 and the compressor can be patched in wherever you like and do not have to be switched with a GCX loop. I believe the FCB1010 will cover these needs, but I think it lacks the capability to send all eight Control Change messages in order to have full preset style control over all of the GCX loops.
