confused by the last sentence.
the original amp footswitch has 2 buttons, Channel select and Solo

I use the Y Insert Point cable to perform the same functionality as the Channel select button. I'm wondering if I need to take up both 7 and 8 or can I just use 7 or 8

If all you want to control is the channel A/B then you would connect a single Mono cable from the Out/N.O. of GCX Loop 7 to the Ch.1 - Ch.2 External Switch jack found on the back of the amplifier.
If you also wanted to control the Solo boost you would use a second Mono cable, only this time from the Out/N.O. of GCX Loop 8 to the Solo External Switch Jack found on the back of the amplifier.

If this does not clear it up then perhaps we are talking about two different amps... This is the Rectifier Recording Preamp, correct?

Hi guys!

Like the friend who posted this, i'm confused about the way i should cable my single rectifier with the GCX and use this gear to change the channels AND to access the solo function.

My single recto doesn't have the single output for each function. Should i plug the single point of the Y cable into the footswitch jack and the other 2 points into the send of both loops 7 and 8?

Is that correct? Sorry if the information is in another topic, but i didn't find it.

Best regards!

If your single recto only has one foot-switch jack, I suspect the plug on the end of your Mesa foot-switch cable is a stereo or TRS plug. If that is the case, you're right on track, but you don't want to use a Y-cable that has three TS plugs. You will need to use what's called an Insert Cable that has a single TRS plug on one end and breaks out into two TS plugs on the other end. The two TS Plugs will go to Loops 7 & 8 and the single TRS Plug will go to your amp.

It worked perfectly well! Now i'm using my GCP and GCX to change the amp channels, access solo function and change the gforce midi programs as well!
