Ive had my gcx and gcp for a few months and it has worked fine until yesterday when a popping noise started occuring when i switched pedals or presets. nothing with the rig has changed, just the start of this popping noise.
Signal chain is: guitar to RMC wah to buffered in of gcx>loop 1 analog man comp> loop 2 timmy overdrive> loop 3 boss chorus> loop 4 boss delay> loop 5 hardwire series reverb out to Lehle iso splitter (outputs to loop 7 and loop 8)> loop 6 channel switch for Splawn> loop 7 in from splitter to input of Splawn Quick rod> loop 8 in from splitter to input of Roccaforte Denelle 45.
This set up has worked flawlessly with no change in set up until yesterdeay when the popping started. I've checked all cables and everything seems fine.
The cables I soldered together myself. One other note: I run a T.C. Electronics Nova Repeater in the effects loop of the Splawn but it is not tied into the GCX and I removed it completely from the chain and still had loud popping when changing patched or switching pedals in and out.
I have a show coming up on the 7th and sure would like to solve this noise problem before then. Thanks for any helpyou can give.

Re: Popping noise when switching pedals and presets
Have you identified any loops in particular that pop or is it the same when any signal loop is switched? What is the simplest setup that yields the problem?

Re: Popping noise when switching pedals and presets
The popping occurs with loops 1 through 5 (the ones with the pedals) but is fine with loops 6 through 8 (the amp switching and channel switching loops are dead quiet). It seems to be only the pedal loops causing the pop. I tried one pedal at a time and they produce the pop. This did not occur before. Most notable when the distorted amp channel is engaged (of course). I try to keep unity gain on all pedals even the Timmy and just use the Splawn solo vol. boost for and extra volume.
I love your products and they have spoiled me to expect perfection. It is probably the loose nut between the guitar strap and guitar (me)!

Re: Popping noise when switching pedals and presets
Start moving the amplifier feed that is currently coming from the output of Loop 5 down one loop at a time. You can also route the Guitar Out to the Input of the same loop that is feeding the amp to see if any single pedal/loop/cableset is causing the problem. Simplifying this setup will be the only way to get to the bottom of the problem.

Thanks, I'll give it a try and let you know what I end up with.
