THANK YOU Mr. Clark for figuring out and walking me through my gcx issues.
I have another less complicated problem concerning the assignment of my 2 expression pedals. When I only had 1 gmajor (original) I had my 1st expression pedal for volume (cc#7) G major and the second pedal was for Whammy (cc#16) G major.
I have since bought a new g major 2.
They have to be on different midi channels so now 1 expression pedal for each are my only options I think? I have them both set up for volume at the moment.
How can I get pedal #1 to be volume for both old and new g major
How can I get pedal #2 to be whammy on both the old and new g majors?
Is it something in the ground control or the g majors that I need to mess with in order to accomplish this? Thanks again
GCP 1 exp pedal volume the other whammy w/2 g majors?
Re: GCP 1 exp pedal volume the other whammy w/2 g majors?
First I guess I have to ask why you will be using both at the same time. Second will they be used in tandem where the settings are pretty close to the same on both units?

Re: GCP 1 exp pedal volume the other whammy w/2 g majors?
I have a g major on 1 amp and a g major 2 on the other amp. The 3rd unit is a gsp1101. I forgot to mention that one is in the mix. I have both g majors set to cc #7 on each one but I have to assign 1 pedal for the old g major and pedal 2 for the g major 2 unfortunately I want pedal one to control volume for
both and the second pedal for other things like whammy or fx mix. Each g majors setting are somewhat similar but give alot of depth and I dig that alot. I do have a few settings that are different but work well together. I use the volume control also for silent tuning. The gsp1101 has a 3 position foot pedal insert that doesn't eork correct when I tried to trigger it's mute with the gcx. Plus I do alot of volume swells and need to control all 3 units volume via 1 midi expression pedal. Thanks for the help

Re: GCP 1 exp pedal volume the other whammy w/2 g majors?
If the G-Majors were always set to load patches at the same time then you could control them both using the same MIDI channel. The patch sounds don't have to be the same but you would need to do some MIDI mapping so everything lines up. However, now that you also want to control a third processor in the same manner I think this will start to be a programming nightmare... but with a name like Midicity, that shouldn't scare you away! You will either need to find a singular location in your signal path to control volume or control all your processors on a single MIDI channel.

Re: GCP 1 exp pedal volume the other whammy w/2 g majors?
I previously had mistakenly put 2 fx units on the same midi channel with weird things happening like one switching to different patches that I did not intend for it to. This was years ago with my original DMV ground control pedal so ever since I stayed away from having 2 units on the same channel. That being said...... You were right. Both g majors on the same channel and patch worked. I wil try the gsp1101 later. Thanks again for making my sleepless nights a bit calmer. I was starting to have nightmares about this rig. Lol
Re: GCP 1 exp pedal volume the other whammy w/2 g majors?
Yes all thre units on the same channel worked as long as they all went to the same exact program number. Otherwise things were unpredictable. Weir thing with the gsp 1101 is that if you turn the volum. Down on patch 1 and go to patch 2 via gcp pedal the volume automatically goes up even if the pedal is down. Probably a digitech issue. If the volume is up on the patch your on then you go to another patch via the ground control then the holme stays up. I did g thru all m gcp prsets and all the corresponding digitech presets to make sure the midi mapping was all set to cc#7 for preset volume and no other parameters were using cc7 and were set to off.
Re: GCP 1 exp pedal volume the other whammy w/2 g majors?
When controlling everything on the same channel it is not necessary to name each device separately... just use device location #1 named "RIG" or something. This will prevent sending differing Program Changes on the one channel and make preset programming go faster.
