GCP and RJM EFX GIzmo

Hello! I just purchased the VL GCP and will be using it to control the RJM Effects Gizmo.

I know that the GCP is currently set to control only 8 MIDI devices at a time. However I'd like to be able to utilize all 12 loops in EFX Gizmo.

Question: while IA function may be limited to 8 pedals - will the GCP still be able to recognize all 12 loops? (similar to having more than 1 GCX?)

And if so, would the programming be similar to having 2 GCX units controlled by 1 GCP (where there would be 16 loops)?

If so, is the key to program each loop as a preset?

The Effects Gizmo will take the place of one and a half GCX switchers. You will still have all eight device locations free for any other MIDI devices like effect processors or MIDI preamps.

You should probably start by first setting the Effects Gizmo loops 1-8 to respond as GCX #1 Loops 1-8, and setting loops 9-12 to respond as GCX #2 Loops 1-4. This is covered in the Effects Gizmo manual under the GCX Compatibility Mode section.
On the Ground Control Pro you will enable both GCX #1 and GCX #2. This is covered in the Expanders section of the Ground Control Pro manual under Setup Mode.
You will be able to assign the eight Ground Control Pro instant Access buttons to control any eight of the twelve available loops. This is covered in the Instant Access section of the Ground Control Pro manual under Setup Mode.
Your Ground Control Pro presets will be able to set the state of all twelve loops which covers the four that don't have an Instant Access button assigned to them. This is covered in the Controlling the GCX Guitar Audio Switcher section under Edit Preset.

Thank you John! I have to say that service from both RJM and Voodoo are second to none!!

Ron said exactly the same today - basically 1.5 GCX's And reset the GCP to activate GCX2.

I admit that "reading the manual" is sorely underestimated - and something that I will NOT fail to do again.
