GCP combined with Voodoo Labs Pedal Switcher

Post by benbutterworth »

Hi,

I am interested in getting the GCP, however I would like a system which enables me to patch in my pedals (e.g. EQ) if desired during a song - even if it is not active in the original preset.

Is this possible with a combination of the GCP and the Voodoo Labs Pedal Switcher. By simply activating the appropriate foot switch on the Pedal Switcher, will this bring a pedal into my chain? Or does the GCP override it's settings entirely?

It would give me great flexibility, as if I'm not quite happy with my tone during a song, I can make adjustments e.g. bring in a little EQ/boost/overdrive on the fly.

Thanks

a gcx seems like a better solution to me... if not ull just have 2 big ass pedal on the floor with all the the pedals in loop. I use a gcx with my gcp and u can program it to activate loops on the fly..

I was thinking the same thing. Although I do like to have my foot pedals by me when I play to tweak them. How deep is the GCX? Would it take up a lot of space on a pedalboard (depending on the size of the pedalboard!)? On the Voodoo site I can't find it's dimensions (obviously it is standard 1 rack unit high and wide, but front to back I don't know the measurements).

Thanks

The Ground Control Pro has eight Instant Access buttons for this exact purpose when set to the 4 Presets per Bank Mode. These Instant Access buttons can be programmed to control GCX Loops, effects within a processor, and many other things depending on the gear being controlled. There is no need to try to put a GCX on the pedalboard unless you must also keep the pedals on the floor... in which case the Pedal Switchers probably are a better option due to having their own Instant Access buttons.
